What is XC IPTV?
Most people searching for XC IPTV mean XCIPTV Player, a media player app published on Google Play by OTTRUN. It is built for Android TV, Android phones and tablets, comes with two built-in players (ExoPlayer and VLC), and is designed to be used with a TV remote. Its Google Play listing shows more than 10 million downloads.
The “XC” comes from Xtream Codes, the login format most IPTV services use: a server address, a username and a password. If that is what you meant, our Xtream Codes setup guide covers the login itself in every major app.
Like every IPTV player, XCIPTV contains no channels. OTTRUN's listing says so plainly: you bring your own content. With Apollo Group TV, the Xtream Codes login arrives on WhatsApp, usually within minutes, after you start a trial or plan.
Where to get XCIPTV safely, device by device
Google Play is the only official source. OTTRUN's website links to its store pages and nothing else, so there is no official APK file or Downloader code. That decides which devices can run it.

Install XCIPTV on Android TV or an Android phone
- Open the Google Play Store on the TV, box or phone.
- Search for XCIPTV PLAYER.
- Check that the developer shown under the name is OTTRUN before you install.
- Select Install, then Open.

What about a Firestick?
Fire TV devices use the Amazon Appstore, not Google Play, and OTTRUN offers no other download. The XCIPTV files on mirror sites are copies nobody has checked, and an IPTV app holds your login, so we do not recommend sideloading one.
On a Fire Stick, install IPTV Smarters Pro from its official download page with the Downloader app. This works on Fire OS sticks only: Vega OS models (Fire TV Stick 4K 3rd Gen, 4K Select and HD) cannot install apps from outside the Amazon Appstore; see which Fire TV sticks still sideload. Add an Xtream Codes login in XCIPTV
- Open XCIPTV. On first launch it asks for a login.
- Choose the Xtream Codes option rather than M3U.
- Enter any name for the profile, for example Apollo.
- Enter the server address exactly as sent, including http:// and the port number after the colon.
- Enter the username and password. Both are case-sensitive, so copy them rather than retyping.
- Sign in, and let the channel list and guide finish loading before you judge what is there.

What XCIPTV does well
These are the features OTTRUN lists for the app on Google Play.
- Two built-in players. ExoPlayer and VLC, so you do not need a separate video player app.
- TV guide and catch-up. EPG support for Xtream Codes and M3U logins, and catch-up from the guide where the service offers it on that channel.
- Films and series. On-demand titles with IMDb information, and series by season and episode.
- Recording and reminders. Schedule a recording or a reminder from the guide; recordings go to internal or external storage.
- Favorites and backup. Save channels, films and series as favorites, and back up settings to restore on another device.

When XCIPTV will not sign in or play
- Login refused. Check the server address for a missing http:// or port, and the username and password for a wrong capital letter or a trailing space.
- Empty guide.Give it a few minutes after the first sign-in, then refresh the EPG from the app's settings. With an M3U link, check a guide address was added.
- A second screen will not play. Each device playing at once uses one connection; Apollo Group TV plans cover 1 to 4. See watching IPTV on several screens.
- Buffering. Usually the network, not the app. Use Ethernet on a TV box if you can; our IPTV buffering fixes go through the rest.

Does XCIPTV support catch-up and the TV guide?
The app supports both: its Google Play listing lists EPG support for Xtream Codes and M3U logins and catch-up from the guide. Whether a channel has catch-up depends on the service, channel by channel. With an Xtream Codes login the guide comes from the same server as the channels.
