Match what you see to where the fault is
| What you see | Where the fault is | Go to |
|---|---|---|
| Nothing loads on any device, on any network | The service or your account | Checks 1 and 4 |
| One device fails, a second device plays normally | That device or its app | Check 2 |
| Everything on your home network is slow or offline | Your internet connection | Check 3 |
| A login error as soon as the app opens | Your login details or your account | Checks 4 and 5 |
| It plays, then stops when another screen starts | The connection limit on your plan | Check 4 |
| It works on mobile data but not on home Wi-Fi | Your network or a VPN | Check 6 |
Check 1: one channel or all of them?
Try four or five channels from different groups, then one film from the on-demand library. If most play and a few do not, nothing is wrong with your setup. Those channels are down at their source. Write down which ones and when, and move on to another channel while you wait.
If nothing plays at all, or the channel list itself is empty, carry on to check 2. An empty or half-loaded list has its own guide: IPTV channels not loading.
Check 2: try a second device on mobile data
Install a player on your phone, sign in with the same details, switch the phone to mobile data and play a channel. Stop the stream on the first device before you do, so you do not trip the connection limit.
- Plays on the phone: the service and your account are fine. The fault is the first device or your home network. Go to check 3.
- Fails on the phone as well: the fault is the account or the service. Go to check 4.
Check 3: your connection and your device
Unplug the router for 60 seconds, then restart the streaming device from its settings menu instead of putting it to sleep. Open another streaming app on the same device. If that app also struggles, the problem is your internet connection and has nothing to do with this service.
If other apps are fine, clear the player app's cache and update it. Where the picture plays but keeps stalling, work through the IPTV buffering fixes, which are ordered by how often each one is the cause.
Check 4: your subscription and connection limit
Two account conditions stop playback on every device at once. The first is an expired subscription. Most players show the expiry date on the account or playlist information screen; if yours is in the past, the login is rejected until the plan is renewed.
The second is the connection limit. A plan allows a fixed number of streams at the same time, and one stream too many stops one of them. A player left running in another room counts. Close the app fully on every device you are not watching, then try again.
Check 5: your login details
A login error on opening the app usually means one of the three values no longer matches: server address, username or password. Re-enter all three exactly as they were sent. Keep the port number at the end of the server address, use http or https as given, and delete any space after a pasted value.
Server addresses do change from time to time, and an old address stops working when that happens. If the details you hold are several months old, ask support for the current ones. Where to enter them in each player is covered in the Apollo Group TV login and portal guide.
Check 6: your network and any VPN
If the service plays on mobile data and fails on home Wi-Fi with every device, something on the home network is in the way. Turn off any VPN and try again; a VPN server that is slow or far away is a common cause.
If you were not using a VPN, try the reverse: some home networks filter or slow streaming traffic at busy times, and a VPN can route around that. Change one thing at a time so you know which change made the difference.
Still not working: what to send support
A report with these five details gets a useful answer on the first reply:
- Your username. Never send the password.
- The device and the player app, for example Firestick 4K with TiviMate.
- What you see: the exact wording of any message on screen, or a photo of it.
- Whether it affects every channel or named ones, and since when.
- The result of check 2: did it play on a second device over mobile data?
For faults that are not specific to this service, the IPTV troubleshooting guide routes every symptom to its own page.
Apollo Group TV faults: common questions
Is Apollo Group TV down right now?
There is no public status page, so the quickest test is your own: play a channel on a second device using mobile data instead of your home Wi-Fi. If it plays there, the service is up and the fault is in your home network or first device. If it fails there as well, message support on WhatsApp.
Why is Apollo Group TV not working on my Firestick?
If a phone on the same account plays normally, the fault is on the Firestick. Restart it from Settings, clear the player app's cache, and check that the app is up to date. A Firestick with almost no free storage also stalls apps, so remove anything you no longer use.
Why do only some Apollo Group TV channels not work?
When a few channels fail and the rest play, your login, device and internet are all fine. The fault is at the source of those channels. Note the channel names and the time, try them again after a few minutes, and send the list to support if they stay down.
Why does it say my login is invalid?
The three usual causes are a typing error in the server address, username or password, a subscription that has expired, and a server address that has changed since you set the app up. Re-enter the details exactly as they were sent, including the port number, then ask support to confirm the account is active.
Why did Apollo Group TV stop when someone else started watching?
Each plan allows a set number of streams at the same time. When one more screen starts than the plan allows, one of the streams is stopped. Either stop the other stream or move to a plan with more connections.
Will reinstalling the app fix Apollo Group TV?
Only when the fault is in the app itself, which the two-device test in check 2 tells you. Reinstalling does nothing for an expired account, a connection limit or a home network problem, and you will need to enter your login details again afterwards, so run the checks first.
