MAG boxes do not use an app the way Firestick or Android TV do. They run a Stalker Portal, so setup means entering your ApolloGroupTV portal URL in the box settings and registering the device MAC address first. Once the portal is saved and the box reboots, the full channel list loads automatically with the EPG. This guide to IPTV on MAG box covers MAG 254, 322, 324, 349 and 420, the portal settings screen, and what to do when channels fail to load.

Which MAG Box Do You Have? Models Compared
The model number is on the sticker under the box. Every model in the table sets up the same way — the portal URL above — but they differ in picture quality, codec support and whether Wi-Fi is built in. A w1, w2 or w3 suffix means built-in Wi-Fi; a plain model number is Ethernet-only unless you add Infomir's USB adapter.
| Model | Max output | HEVC (H.265) | Line |
|---|---|---|---|
| MAG250 | 1080p Full HD | No | Legacy HD — discontinued, sold used |
| MAG254 / MAG256 | 1080p Full HD | MAG256 only | Legacy HD — discontinued, sold used |
| MAG322 / MAG324 | 1080p Full HD | Yes | HD line |
| MAG349 / MAG351 / MAG352 | 4K UHD | Yes | 4K line |
| MAG420 / MAG424 | 4K UHD | Yes | 4K line |
| MAG520 / MAG524 / MAG544 | 4K UHD, HDR | Yes | Current 4K line |
HEVC matters because many 4K and some HD streams are encoded in H.265: a MAG250 or plain MAG254 can only play H.264 channels. Comparing a MAG box against Android boxes? The best IPTV box guide covers Firestick, Onn 4K Pro and Nvidia Shield side by side.

Frequently Asked Questions — IPTV on MAG Box
Which MAG box is best for IPTV in 2026?
For 1080p viewing any MAG254, MAG256, MAG322 or MAG324 works, and they all set up the same way with a portal URL. For 4K, choose a 4K model such as the MAG420, MAG424, MAG520 or MAG524 — or, for less money, an Android box like the Onn 4K Pro or a Firestick 4K running TiviMate, which also adds VOD and catch-up. Apollo Group TV works on all of them.
Does a MAG box use a portal URL or Xtream Codes?
A portal URL. MAG boxes run a Stalker/Ministra portal client, so you enter the portal address in System Settings → Servers → Portals rather than a username and password. Xtream Codes credentials are for apps such as TiviMate and IPTV Smarters Pro. Ask for the MAG portal URL when you activate and send the box's MAC address with the request.
Where is the MAC address on a MAG box?
On the barcode sticker on the underside of the box — Infomir MAC addresses start with 00:1A:79. It is also shown on screen under Settings → System Information. Activation is tied to this address, so the sticker must match the box you are using.
Is a MAG box better than a Firestick for IPTV?
It depends on what you want. A MAG box is simpler: no apps, it boots straight into the channel list, and the remote is built for live TV — a good fit for a set-and-forget television. A Firestick or Onn 4K Pro is cheaper for 4K, runs TiviMate and IPTV Smarters Pro with a full guide, and handles the VOD library better. Your Apollo Group TV subscription works on either.
