Which Formuler you have, and which app it runs
Formuler makes Android boxes built around its own IPTV player, MYTVOnline, rather than around a generic launcher. The version matters, because the menus in this guide are the ones in MYTVOnline 3. The model name is printed on the box and its label. This table is taken from Formuler's own product pages; it is part of the Apollo Group TV setup guide, which covers every other device.
| Model | System | Memory / storage | Network | Built-in player |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Z11 Pro Max | Android 11 | 4 GB / 32 GB | Wi-Fi 6 (AX 2x2), Gigabit Ethernet | MYTVOnline 3 |
| Z11 Pro | Android 11 | 2 GB / 16 GB | Wi-Fi 5 (AC 2x2), Gigabit Ethernet | MYTVOnline 3 |
| Z12 Ultra | Android 12 | 4 GB / 128 GB | Wi-Fi 6E (tri-band), Gigabit Ethernet | MYTVOnline 3 and 4 |
| Z12 Pro | Android 12 | 2 GB / 16 GB | Wi-Fi 5 (2T2R), Gigabit Ethernet | MYTVOnline 4 |
| Z10 Pro Max | Android 10 | 4 GB / 32 GB | Wi-Fi 5 (AC), Gigabit Ethernet | MYTVOnline 2 (3 and 4 separately) |
| GTV | Android TV 12 | 2 GB / 16 GB | Wi-Fi 5 (AC), Gigabit Ethernet | MYTVOnline 2, plus Google Play |
Every model in the table has a Gigabit Ethernet port. Use it if the router is within reach: a cable removes the most common cause of stutter on live channels before you change a single setting. If your box runs MYTVOnline 4 or 2, the login types below are the same but the menu names differ, so look for the screen that lists your portals or content sources.
The three login types in MYTVOnline 3
When you add a portal, MYTVOnline 3 asks what kind it is. Formuler's support site lists three. Pick the one that matches the details you were sent; if you are not sure what you have, M3U vs Xtream Codes shows how to tell them apart.
XC (Xtream Codes API)
You enter: Server address, username and password.
The one to use. It is the login sent on WhatsApp after you start a trial or plan, and it brings the channel list, the guide and on-demand titles in one step.
MAC-ID (Stalker portal)
You enter: A portal URL only. The box is identified by its MAC-ID, which the provider registers.
Works the way a MAG box does. Ask for a portal URL on WhatsApp and send the MAC-ID with the request; it cannot load until the ID is registered.
M3U Playlist
You enter: A playlist URL, plus a separate EPG XML URL for the guide.
A fallback. It needs two addresses instead of one, and the guide does not arrive unless you add the second.
Set up an Xtream Codes login, step by step
- Connect the box to the internet, by cable if you can, and open MYTVOnline 3 from the home screen.
- Open the menu, then Content Manager, then Content Sources.
- Choose Add Portal and select XC as the type.
- Give the portal a name you will recognise, for example Apollo.
- Enter the server address exactly as sent, including the http:// part and the port number after the colon.
- Enter the username and password. Both are case-sensitive; copy them rather than retyping if you can.
- Save, then wait for the first download to finish. The channel list appears first and the guide fills in after it.
The first sync on a full channel list takes a few minutes. Let it finish before you judge whether anything is missing, because a half-loaded list looks the same as a broken one.
Using a MAC-ID portal instead
A MAC-ID portal is the same login a MAG box uses: the box identifies itself by an address, and the service registers that address. You enter a portal URL and nothing else, with no username or password.
- Find the MAC-ID. In MYTVOnline 3 go to Content Manager, then Content Sources, then Add Portal; the ID is shown on that screen. Formuler says Z11-series boxes on MYTVOnline 3 use an ID starting 00:1E:B8, and it is also on a label on the back of the box.
- Send the MAC-ID on WhatsApp and ask for a portal URL. It cannot work until the ID is registered.
- When the URL arrives, choose Add Portal, select the MAC-ID type and paste the URL.
Formuler is clear that it is a hardware maker and not a content provider, so a MAC-ID only ever works with the portal it was registered to. If you replace the box, the new one needs registering too. The MAG box IPTV setup guide explains the same portal model on Infomir hardware.
Loading and refreshing the TV guide
With an XC or MAC-ID portal the guide comes from the same server, so there is nothing extra to add. With an M3U playlist, the guide is a second address, the EPG XML URL, which you add alongside the playlist. Without it the channel list works and the guide stays blank.
- Refresh now: MYTVOnline 3 Settings, then Content Manager, then Data Sync, then Contents Data, then Refresh.
- Refresh automatically: in the same Data Sync menu, open Auto Update Settings and set a daily update.
- Wrong times on every programme:check the box's own date and time zone first. A wrong system clock shifts the whole guide.
Recording, catch-up and Cloud Timeshift
These three are easy to confuse, and only one of them needs anything plugged in.
- Recording saves a programme to storage you attach. Formuler states that a USB drive or an external hard drive or NAS is needed; the internal storage is not used for recordings. The Z11 Pro Max has a USB 3.0 port, the faster choice for a drive.
- Catch-upplays programmes that have already aired, from the service's servers. Whether a channel has it depends on the provider, channel by channel.
- Cloud Timeshift lets you pause and rewind live TV without a drive. Formuler limits it to supported services and to channels that have catch-up.
Can you use TiviMate or another player?
On a model with Google Play you can. Formuler lists Google Play on the GTV, its Android TV model, and independent reviewers report TiviMate running well on the Z11 Pro Max. Formuler's Z-series spec pages do not mention Google Play, so check your own box before you plan around it.
Most owners do not need a second app: MYTVOnline 3 takes the same Xtream Codes login TiviMate would. If you would rather use TiviMate everywhere in the house, the IPTV on Android TV and Google TV guide has the TiviMate steps, and they are the same on a Formuler that has the Play Store.
When it does not work
- Portal will not connect. Check the server address for a missing http:// or port, and the username and password for a wrong capital letter. For a MAC-ID portal, confirm the ID you sent matches the one on the Add Portal screen.
- The app is slow or the lists look stale.Formuler's fix is Home, then Settings, then Apps, then MYTVOnline 3, then Clear cache. Clear data as well only if that fails, because it removes your portals and you will add them again.
- Before updating MYTVOnline 3,back up its data to a USB drive. Formuler's update notes warn that an update cannot be rolled back.
- Channels load but every one buffers. That is rarely the box. Test the connection speed and switch from Wi-Fi to the Ethernet port before resetting anything, because a reset fixes app faults and buffering is almost always a network one.

How this guide was checked
Checked on 7 October 2026 against Formuler's own pages. We did not run these steps on a box, and say so because menu labels move between app versions.
- Model specifications: formuler.tv product pages for each model in the table.
- Login types and the Add Portal path: Formuler support, portal connection.
- MAC-ID prefix and location: Formuler support, MAC-ID for the Z11 series.

Formuler setup questions, answered
Does Apollo Group TV work on a Formuler box?
Yes. MYTVOnline 3 accepts an Xtream Codes login, which is the login Apollo Group TV sends on WhatsApp, so a Formuler box is set up by adding that login as an XC portal. A portal URL tied to the box's MAC-ID is available on request if you prefer the MAG-style login.
Should I choose XC, MAC-ID or M3U in MYTVOnline 3?
Choose XC when you have a server address, username and password. It loads channels, the guide and on-demand titles together. MAC-ID is for portal logins registered to the box, and M3U is a fallback that needs a separate guide address before the TV guide fills.
Where is the MAC address on a Formuler Z11?
Formuler's support site says Z11-series boxes running MYTVOnline 3 use a MAC-ID starting 00:1E:B8, shown on the Add Portal screen in MYTVOnline 3 and on a label on the back of the box. Read it from the screen if the two ever disagree, because that is the ID the box sends.
Why is the TV guide empty in MYTVOnline 3?
Usually because the guide has not downloaded yet. Go to MYTVOnline 3 Settings, then Content Manager, then Data Sync, then Contents Data, and choose Refresh. If you logged in with an M3U playlist, check that an EPG XML URL was added as well; without it there is no guide to download.
Can I record on a Formuler box?
Yes, with storage attached. Formuler states that recording needs a USB drive or an external hard drive or NAS. Catch-up and Cloud Timeshift are different: they replay from the service's servers, need no drive, and only work on channels where the provider offers catch-up.
Can I install TiviMate on a Formuler instead?
On models with Google Play, such as the GTV, you can install TiviMate or another player from the store, and independent reviewers report TiviMate running well on the Z11 Pro Max. MYTVOnline 3 is already on most Z-series boxes, though, and handles an Xtream Codes login without a second app.
