Canal+ holds every Champions League, Europa League and Conference League match through 2027 — already renewed to 2031 — and the Top 14 exclusively until 2027, all behind the €39.99 Canal+ Sport tier, which also folds in beIN Sports for Ligue 2, LaLiga and the Bundesliga.
So a household following Ligue 1, the Champions League and the Top 14 legally pays about €60 a month across two subscriptions before Netflix or a box. That gap is what the eight services here trade on, and it is also where cheap resellers fail: holding thousands of concurrent viewers through a Sunday-evening Ligue 1 kick-off is an infrastructure problem, not a marketing one. For the 2026 season Apollo Group TV and FlickHaven held up best under that load, followed by TVNado — all three carrying the French rights holders plus the overseas broadcasters showing the same fixtures.
For 2026-27 the LFP sells Ligue 1 itself through Ligue 1+, Canal+ holds all three UEFA club competitions and the Top 14, and France Télévisions and Prime Video share Roland-Garros — France TV free-to-air by day, Prime Video the night sessions. None of it overlaps, so a fan of French football, European football and Top 14 rugby needs Ligue 1+ (€19.99) and Canal+ Sport (€39.99) at minimum, roughly €60 a month on two invoices, with Prime Video on top for the Roland-Garros evening matches.

A VPN is not required for any of these services to work, and it is not a legal workaround: the sports-piracy blocking Arcom notifies is executed by French ISPs at DNS level, and reaching a blocked service through a VPN does not change the legal position set out below. Some viewers still run one for privacy or because their operator shapes sustained high-bitrate video at peak hours. IPTV as a technology is entirely legal in France — myCANAL, France.tv, Molotov and Ligue 1+ are all IPTV. Redistributing channels or matches without a licence is not. The loi du 25 octobre 2021 gave Arcom an explicit anti-piracy mandate covering live sport: a rights holder obtains one court order per competition and Arcom then extends the blocking to mirror sites and copycat services without going back to the judge. Arcom's 2025 report counts 6,496 sports-piracy services notified for blocking in that year alone and puts the illicit IPTV audience at 0.9 million. End users are exposed too: under articles L.335-2 et seq. of the Code de la propriété intellectuelle, combined with recel under the Code pénal, the tribunal correctionnel d'Arras fined around twenty IPTV subscribers €300–€400 each in March 2026, according to a note by Haas Avocats. There is no longer a TV licence to hold — the contribution à l'audiovisuel public was abolished in 2022 — but that changes nothing about rights. Watching or redistributing an unlicensed feed is unlawful in France; it is your responsibility, not ours, to confirm that any service you pay for holds the rights to what it carries, and we have not verified the licensing of any service reviewed on this page.
